The benefits for members are as follows:
Geisinger Health Plan Gold Classic and Geisinger Health Plan Select members have the Silver Sneakers fitness benefits.
Geisinger Health Plan Gold Choice and Geisinger Health Plan Preferred members have the Forever Fit benefit. Below is a short description of each fitness benefit.
SilverSneakers - Geisinger Health Plan Gold Classic and Select members receive a fitness facility membership where they can enjoy specialized low-impact SilverSneakers fitness classes. Certified SilverSneakers instructors will teach classes at participating fitness facilities where members can also enjoy other fitness facility membership benefits, including:
1) Use of each facility's exercise equipment
2) Weight Training
3) Circuit Training
4) Other fitness offerings such as aerobics, sauna, swimming pool (if available) and social events
The SilverSneakers classes are low-impact and are appropriate for individuals who may not have exercised in years, or for those who exercise on a regular basis.
Forever Fit - Geisinger Health Plan Gold Preferred and Choice members receive a fitness facility membership which may include:
1) Use of each facility's exercise equipment
2) Weight Training
3) Circuit Training
4) Other fitness offerings such as aerobics, sauna, swimming pool (if available)
Curves locations are participating gyms for those members with the Forever Fit benefit.
