JOB SUMMARY:

Performs analytic and technical tasks related to MedMining project completion, including merging data from various source systems (e.g. Epic, financial systems, various departmental databases) to enable the quality and timely delivery of reports for both internal and external analysis. Works in partnership with a MedMining Project Manager to analyze and make recommendations related to the feasibility of new external data requests.

Works under the supervision of Information Technology.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

w        Demonstrates proficiency with SQL and databases, MS Word, Excel, Access, and the ability to manipulate and merge data files for analysis and other needs.

w        Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

w        Demonstrates excellent communication skills. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment as well as interface with other departmental groups and external customers as required.

w        Demonstrates the ability to import/export data from numerous source systems and merge and compare data.

w        Demonstrates a good working knowledge of all the latest Microsoft operating systems and an understanding of Client / Server applications.

w        Demonstrates knowledge of programming and databases.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Associate or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Business or other relevant analytical/data field required.

Minimum of 5 years experience using Oracle SQL (ex: SQL Plus, PL/SQL, Transact SQL, SQL Developer, SQL Server Management Studio) required. 

Demonstrated understanding of relational databases including the use of indices, joins, unions, minus, and ability to implement in a real world setting required. 

Minimum of 2 years experience working with healthcare databases, including data importing, data extraction and heavy data manipulation using Oracle SQL (ex: SQL Plus, PL/SQL, Transact SQL, etc.) required.  

Epic Clarity Inpatient and Outpatient reporting and Visual Basic experience strongly preferred but not required.

Eclipsys reporting, SQL Loader, SSIS Packages, Crystal Reports, ODBC, ADO, and Business Objects Web Intelligence experience preferred but not required.

Minimum of five years experience working in an Information Technology environment required.
