Urology practice joins Geisinger Health System

Patients of Mid-Penn Urologic Associates will continue care with Geisinger

June 30, 2009, DANVILLE – Geisinger Health System has established a partnership with Mid-Penn Urologic Associates. 

Charles E. Zaleski, M.D., and Darshan K. Bhangdia, M.D., will welcome new patients to their practice while providing care to current patients. And, the physicians will continue to perform procedures at Evangelical Community Hospital.

Led by Dr. Zaleski, the urology group has locations at 3 Hospital Drive in Lewisburg and 5 Atrium Court in Selinsgrove.

Zaleski and Bhangdia to Geisinger,” said William Dowdy, Geisinger’s associate vice president for the division of surgery. “Both are board-certified in urology and bring extensive knowledge of the field to our health system. They are a tremendous addition to our system and will continue to be a valued resource in the Lewisburg and Selinsgrove communities.”

Dr. Bhangdia received his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in 1993. He completed residencies in general surgery and urology at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn.

Dr. Zaleski received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1987. He completed residencies in general surgery and urology at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. Dr. Zaleski has operated his urology practice in Lewisburg since 1993.

Dr. Zaleski noted that, “Our country is focused on reforming our healthcare system.
