The Healthy Humorist plans a house call to Wilkes-Barre

Oct. 27, 2009, WILKES-BARRE — The Healthy Humorist® is making a house call to Wilkes-Barre for Geisinger Health System’s free health fair from 1 to 4 p.m.  Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Ramada Inn, Independence Ballroom, Public Square, Wilkes-Barre.

Brad Nieder, M.D., is nationally known as the Healthy Humorist®, entertaining, enlightening and inspiring audiences across the county with a unique blend of healthcare comedy and wellness advice. Join Geisinger and Dr. Nieder for an afternoon of screenings, light refreshments and a presentation that is sure to tickle your funny bone.

Free screenings for blood pressure; cholesterol (fasting is recommended); glucose; sleep; hearing; heart health; strength, flexibility and range of motion; and skin checks will be available.

Representatives from many Geisinger health and wellness services will be participating, including cosmetics, dermatology, endocrinology, family and internal medicine, nutrition, bariatric surgery, orthopedics, sports medicine, pharmacy, rheumatology, sleep disorders center, urgent care, urogynecology and women’s health.
