Skin cancer specialist Christine Cabell, MD to speak at Hazleton Senior Center

HAZLETON- Dermatologist and skin cancer specialist, Christine Cabell, MD, is slated to speak at Hazleton Senior Center on Wednesday, April 4 at 11:15 am. She will discuss prevention tips, signs, symptoms, screenings, and treatment options for skin cancer.

Dr. Cabell is presenting this free seminar in connection with a Senior Health Fair being held at the Senior Center. The health fair runs 9 to 11 am on Wednesday, April 4 at The Hazleton Senior Center located at 24 East Broad Street. Free screenings being offered include:

• Blood pressure check
• Glucose screening 
• Glaucoma screening
• Lung capacity screening for asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
• Personalized medication check, over-the-counter and prescription medications
• Mercury thermometer exchange

Seniors will also have the opportunity to meet primary care physicians Rhonda Todd, MD, and Bruce Jacobs, DO, from Geisinger Medical Group-Hazleton. Anyone interested in taking part in the free screenings is encouraged to bring all of their medications in a bag for pharmacists to review. Seniors may also bring a mercury thermometer to exchange for a new digital one.

Christine Cabell, MD, is a dermatologist and MOHS surgeon in the treatment of skin cancer. She practices at Geisinger Wyoming Valley in Plains Township. She is a Hazleton native.
