Senior healthcare executive joins Geisinger Ventures

DANVILLE, PA – Anthony LaMacchia has joined Geisinger Ventures as an executive in residence, where he will provide management support to Ventures’ four portfolio companies and assist with the startup of newly acquired or internally developed companies.

Geisinger Ventures is a for-profit operation that pursues commercial opportunities to generate added capital for Geisinger Health System’s core mission of serving patients. Ventures’ portfolio includes CareSite Pharmacy, CareWorks Convenient Healthcare, ISS Solutions and MedMining.

LaMacchia brings more than 23 years of experience in joint-venture and collaboration with academic, academic affiliated and large tertiary hospitals and physician groups, including his most recent stint as Chief Operating Officer with Hythiam Inc, a publicly traded healthcare service management company, headquartered in Los Angeles. At Hythiam he created and later refined the business model, directly contributing to their ascent to a premier alcohol and drug addiction services company. Prior to joining Hythiam, he led business development for GME Solutions, a healthcare reimbursement consulting company and served as Chief Executive officer of a Response Oncology, Inc, a comprehensive cancer management company.

LaMacchia is a certified public accountant licensed in California, and a member of the AICPA and the American College of Healthcare Executives. He received his BS Business Administration degree from California State University, Northridge.
