
Salvatore Ramondelli, MD, receives Jane Strickler, MD, Award
June 19, 2009, STATE COLLEGE – Salvatore Ramondelli, MD, general surgeon at Geisinger-Scenery Park, 200 Scenery Drive, State College, has received the Jane Strickler, MD, Award by the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff of Mount Nittany Medical Center.
The Jane Strickler, MD, Award was established on Nov. 6, 2001, by Mount Nittany Medical Center to honor members of the medical and lay communities who have improved the quality of healthcare and the health of central Pennsylvania residents, according to the standards of Innovation, Excellence and Service set by Dr. Strickler.
Dr. Ramondelli, who specializes in thoracic and vascular surgery, introduced video-assisted thoroscopic surgery and has provided surgical care to the State College area for more than 15 years. As an active member of the Mount Nittany Medical Center medical staff, Dr. Ramondelli serves on the Credentials Committee and is a member of the Patient Care Board Committee.
Board-certified in general surgery, Dr. Ramondelli earned his medical degree from the University of Bologna Facolta di Medicina in Italy. He completed his residency at Shadyside Hospital, Wright State University School of Medicine, and a fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.
