Matthew DeGirolamo, MD, adds to growing family practice at Geisinger Medical Group in Mt. Pocono

WILKES-BARRE - Matthew J. DeGirolamo, MD, joins Geisinger Medical Group in Mt. Pocono as a family physician. He enters a growing group of physicians including Levelle Bigatel, MD; Frederick James Bloom, MD; Timothy Brown, MD; Matthew Kozma, DO; Luigi Spagnolini, MD; Joseph Stella, MD; and Andrea Wessel, MD.

Prior to joining Geisinger, Dr. DeGirolamo worked in family medicine at Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, N.J., which is also where he completed his residency. While at Warren Hospital, Dr. DeGirolamo served on the facility’s Credentials Committee and Joint Accreditation Committee.

Dr. DeGirolamo earned his medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, Wisconsin. While there he served as a teaching assistant and tutor for courses such as anatomy and histology and volunteered his time and medical skills at a local children’s orphanage. However, Dr. DeGirolamo first began his healthcare career as a chiropractor and then as a certified emergency medical technician before going to medical school.
