
Margaret Hennelly-Bergin, R.N., joins Geisinger Northeast as Chief Nursing Officer
Nov. 6, 2009, WILKES-BARRE — Margaret Hennelly-Bergin, R.N., MSN, MBA, recently joined Geisinger as Chief Nursing Officer, Geisinger Northeast. In this role, Hennelly-Bergin leads approximately 600 nurses throughout Geisinger Wyoming Valley (GWV), along with Mary Gildea, Vice President of Nursing, GWV, and Geisinger Regional Ambulatory Campus in south Wilkes-Barre.
As Chief Nursing Officer, Hennelly-Bergin will also work closely with John J. Buckley, FACHE, Chief Administrative Officer, Geisinger Northeast, Steven B. Pierdon, M.D., MMM, Executive Vice President, Chief Medical Officer, Geisinger Northeast, and Lissa Bryan-Smith, Chief Administrative Officer, Geisinger Regional Ambulatory Campus to represent nursing issues and initiatives in the northeast.
Prior to joining Geisinger, Hennelly-Bergin served as Chief Nursing Officer/Associate Hospital Director of Patient Services, Temple East, Inc., Northeastern Hospital in Philadelphia. Before Temple East, she worked as a classroom and clinical educator for senior-level nursing students at Northeastern Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia.
Hennelly-Bergin earned a master’s of science in nursing from LaSalle University, Philadelphia, and a master’s of business administration from the University of Phoenix.
