Manish Gupta, MD, joins Geisinger Wyoming Valley transplant team
WILKES-BARRE - Manish Gupta, MD, has joined the surgical team at Geisinger Wyoming Valley to perform kidney transplants for patients at the medical center in Plains Township. Dr. Gupta will also perform transplant surgery as needed at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Prior to arriving at Geisinger, Dr. Gupta served as assistant professor of surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, Inova Transplant Center in Fairfax, Virginia.
After graduating from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Dr. Gupta completed his residency in general surgery at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Following his research fellowship in transplant surgery at Hershey Medical Center, Dr. Gupta completed his clinical fellowship in multi-organ transplant surgery at the University of Cincinnati.
Board-certified in general surgery, Dr. Gupta has given numerous clinical presentations at transplant conferences in the United States, Switzerland and Spain. He has also served on various medical advisory committees and quality assurance/peer review committees.
