Life Geisinger Executive Director named Practice Change Fellow

DANVILLE - Amy Minnich, RN BSN, Executive Director of LIFE Geisinger, has been named a Practice Change Fellow by the Hartford Foundation and The Atlantic Philanthropies.  She is one of 10 fellows selected from a national field of geriatrics specialists.

The Practice Change Fellowship Program is designed to expand the number of health care leaders who can effectively promote high quality care to older adults in a wide range of health and health care organizations. The program is cosponsored by The Atlantic Philanthropies, an organization whose mission is to improve society’s perception of aging and the treatment of older persons and the Hartford Foundation, an organization committed to the training, research, innovation and promotion of health and independence of American’s older adults.

In addition to helping participating fellows develop their leadership skills, the program provides the opportunity to complete a project aimed at implementing a new geriatric program or service line. Ms. Minnich’s project is focused on developing a geriatric center of excellence within Geisinger Health System.

Ms. Minnich received her RN from Geisinger Medical Center School of Nursing and her BSN from Penn State University.  She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in healthcare administration with a focus on long term care at Marywood University, Scranton.
