Krywicki named society president

Oct. 21, 2009 - WILKES-BARRE - William Krywicki, MD, FAAOS, Chief of Orthopaedics and Director of Sports Medicine at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, was recently elected president of the Hughston Orthopaedic Society.  The society was founded by Dr. Jack C. Hughston, one of the founders of the field of sports medicine in the United States. The Hughston Society is a cadre of orthopaedic surgeons and primary care physicians who were trained in the Hughston philosophy of care, and who are dedicated to research, education and training, and quality treatment of musculoskeletal injury and disease.
 
The Hughston Society includes orthopaedic surgeons and physicians from all over the world. It is committed to athletes and returning them to competition in the shortest amount of time.
 
Dr. Krywicki was fellowship-trained in sports medicine at the Hughston Clinic from 1982 to 1983.  He resides in Shavertown with his family.
