Kelly Condefer, MD, joins Geisinger Wyoming Valley as a neurologist specializing in movement disorders

WILKES-BARRE — Kelly A. Condefer, MD, joins Geisinger Wyoming Valley as an associate in neurology. She joins Mitchell Gross, MD, James Hora, MD, PhD, John McBurney, MD, and Richard Somma, MD, in the neurology department. Dr. Condefer specializes in the treatment of movement disorders, such as dystonia and Parkinson disease.

Dr. Condefer recently completed her fellowship in movement disorders in the neurology program at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. She also has experience working with multiple sclerosis patients and completed a Comprehensive Multiple Sclerosis Treatment Training Program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. In addition, Dr. Condefer has experience with geriatric dementia, having completed clinical research and publishing several studies on the topic.

Board certified in neurology, Dr. Condefer earned her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. At Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York, she completed her residency in neurology and then served as chief resident in the college’s department of neurology. She is fellowship trained in movement disorders from Beth Israel Medical Center.

Dr. Condefer is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the Movement Disorders Society. She has earned several professional awards, including the Allergan Fellowship Award for her work at the Aspen Movement Disorders Course, and the American Academy of Neurology Resident Award.

Dr. Condefer is a native of Northeastern Pennsylvania and graduated from North Pocono High School.  She resides in Scranton.
