Jennifer Roberts joins Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre

WILKES-BARRE  --  Jennifer Roberts has recently been appointed as the administrator of the transitional care unit (TCU) at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre (GSWB). Jennifer is responsible for all operations in the transitional care unit.

Jennifer’s past experience includes serving as the social service director at Kingston Commons and Nursing Rehabilitation Center, Kingston, PA and as a psychological services specialist at the State Correctional Institution, Dallas, PA. Most recently, she held the position of quality assurance risk manager at the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, Scranton, PA.

Jennifer received her bachelor’s degree in biology from King’s College in 1998 and her masters of arts degree in psychology from Marywood University in 2001. She also holds a masters of science in health care administration from King’s College.

The twenty-bed TCU at GSWB provides nursing and rehabilitative care to patients who have been treated and stabilized in an acute care setting but require additional attention prior to returning home or leaving the hospital. William Prebola, Jr., MD, serves as medical director. Healthcare staff, including physicians, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, and dieticians, among others, assist patients in achieving specific healthcare goals in a warm, home-like environment.
