J. Krystal Ascencio, MD, joins OB/GYN team at Geisinger Wyoming Valley

WILKES-BARRE— J. Krystal Ascencio, MD, has joined the women’s health team at Geisinger Wyoming Valley as an associate in obstetrics and gynecology. Her office is located in the Women’s Health Department at the Valley Medical Building, adjacent to Geisinger Wyoming Valley, at 1000 East Mountain Boulevard, Plains Township. She joins Dr. Ron Daniel, Dr. George Valenta, Dr. Hans Cassagnol, Dr. Bridget Roots and Dr. Jennifer Gell.

Dr. Ascencio graduated from State University of New York at Albany with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. She received her medical degree from University of Virginia School of Medicine and went on to complete an internship and residency at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in Flushing, New York.

Dr. Ascencio is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Medical Association. She joins Geisinger from private practice in Elmont, New York.
