Geisinger vascular surgeon, Shivprasad Nikam, MD, named one of America's Top Surgeons

WILKES-BARRE — Shivprasad Nikam, MD, was recently selected as one of America’s Top Surgeons of 2008 by the Consumers' Research Council of America. Dr. Nikam practices vascular surgery at the Richard and Marion Pearsall Heart Hospital at Geisinger Wyoming Valley.

Dr. Nikam’s surgical skills include traditional open vascular surgery for the diseases of the aorta, carotid arteries and peripheral leg arteries. He also specializes in the minimally invasive endovascular treatments such as carotid stents, stent graft treatment for aneurysms of aorta, angioplasties and stent treatment of peripheral arterial disease (PAD).
