Geisinger teams up with local YMCAs for Healthy Kids Day
WILKES-BARRE – Geisinger Health System is teaming up with the YMCA to celebrate Healthy Kids Day throughout the month of April. This event is a national YMCA initiative designed to promote healthy kids and families in spirit, mind and body through a day of free, fun-filled activities.
As a regional sponsor of YMCA Healthy Kids Day, Geisinger is providing free t-shirts to the first 100 kids at each participating YMCA in northeastern Pennsylvania. Families are invited to stop by the Geisinger booth for more giveaways and interactive health activities, including a jump-rope contest and body mass index (BMI) screening.

YMCA Healthy Kids Day celebrates making fitness fun, and introduces kids to YMCA programs and tools that teach healthy behaviors and healthy ways to play—an essential lesson in learning how to take care of themselves throughout their lifetimes.
