Geisinger and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to host hockey clinic

Wilkes-Barre- The Geisinger Sports Medicine Staff and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will host a free hockey clinic for youths aged 6 to 18 at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza on Monday, February 11, from 5 to 9 pm.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins players participating in the event are:


The clinic will provide hands-on instruction on injury prevention, equipment check, skating, shooting and stick skills. Participants must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or coach and bring hockey gloves, helmets, pants, skates, sticks, and knee, shin and shoulder pads.

Jamie Shea, manager of Geisinger Wyoming Valley Athletic Training Services, says, “Geisinger Sports Medicine Staff is very excited to team up with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins once again in support of our local youths. We hope that this clinic will help young hockey players to learn not only how to play the game well, but also to play it safely.”
