Geisinger Ventures CEO nominated as one of Top 100 people in 2006

Jan. 8, 2006, DANVILLE - Geisinger Ventures CEO Denise Prince was nominated as one of the Top 100 people for 2006 by a leading Pennsylvania business publication.

Prince was singled out as a person of success and accomplishment in the 16 county coverage area for the Pennsylvania Business Central, a State College- based publication. An awards luncheon is scheduled for this summer at an area college.

“This is a great recognition for me and for the work that we do through Geisinger Ventures,” Prince said. “We’re focused on innovation, business development and job creation in central Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania Business Central has taken note of those efforts.”

As Chief Executive Officer of Geisinger Ventures, Prince oversees Geisinger’s venture and technology initiatives. Launched in 2003, Geisinger Ventures identifies Geisinger assets and capabilities and pursues commercial opportunities to benefit the system’s core mission.

Prince, who has been with Geisinger for 17 years, said she enjoys creating new businesses and watching them grow. “It’s rewarding to see a patient or consumer benefit from a new service or product,” Prince said.

Prince was one of five finalists for a 2005 Athena Award, which is given locally to people who have taken time to involve, mentor and encourage women to become active in the community and assume leadership roles. She is a member of governing board of The Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce.
