Geisinger Northeast awards 2008 Outstanding EMS Providers of the Year

WILKES-BARRE --- In recognition of National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week, Geisinger honored recipients of the 2008 Outstanding Emergency Medical Service Provider of the Year Awards at its annual dinner. James Ruane of Greater Pittston Ambulance and Alice and Robert Walsh of Sweet Valley Volunteer Ambulance Service were honored with Outstanding EMS Providers of the Year Awards for Community Service. Thomas Brogan and Christopher Turbessi, both of Lackawanna Ambulance Service, were named winners of the Geisinger 2008 Outstanding EMS Providers of the Year Award for Heroism.

First responders nominated this year included: Jeff Alu, Richard Bartholomew, Kenny Batzel, Nicholas DeWitt, Mark Ercolani, Kevin Hrunick, Christopher Lathrop, Darlene Murawski, Frank Slymock III, Michael Stadulis, Travis Temerantz, William Tomolaitis and Anthony Vanko.
