
Geisinger Medical Center earns high national marks for urology care
DANVILLE - Geisinger Medical Center (GMC) is ranked among the country’s best hospitals for urology care, according to U.S. News’ 2009-10 publication of America’s Best Hospitals.
Geisinger’s Urology Department treats a variety of urological conditions, including prostate cancer, infertility/sexual disorders, urinary tract stones and incontinence.

Now in its 20th year, the 2009-10 America’s Best Hospitals guide ranks hospitals based on reputation, death rate, patient safety, and other factors such as nurse staffing and technology. Geisinger Medical Center was ranked among the top 50 hospitals in urology care.
The other 15 ranked specialties in the U.S. News publication are cancer; diabetes and endocrine disorders; digestive disorders; ear, nose and throat; geriatric care; gynecology; heart and heart surgery; kidney disorders; neurology and neurosurgery; ophthalmology; orthopedics; psychiatry; rehabilitation; respiratory disorders, and rheumatology.
