Geisinger Medical Center director to receive ADA award

DANVILLE – The 2009 Medallion Award, presented by the American Dietetic Association (ADA), has been awarded to Kessey J. Kieselhorst, director of Regulatory Performance Improvement at Geisinger Medical Center.

She was nominated and chosen to receive the award by the ADA at the National Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo to be held in Denver in October.  The award is given to ADA members who are recognized for exhibiting dedication to the dietetics profession through leadership and active participation.  

Kieselhorst is a registered dietician with more than 30 years of experience in the field. She has held various board positions for the ADA, including president of the Pennsylvania Dietetic Association from 1998-99, among other leadership roles within the organization. In addition to the ADA, Kieselhorst has held leadership positions in a wide range of professional dietary organizations.

The American Dietetic Association is the world’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals, with more than 70,000 active members. The ADA is committed to improving the nation’s health and advancing the profession of dietetics through research, education and advocacy.
