Geisinger Hospice offers six-week grief education series

Sept. 18, 2009, DANVILLE – Geisinger Hospice will offer a six-week grief educational series from 10:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 28 through Nov. 3 at Geisinger Medical Center’s Spiritual Care Center, located across the street from the Pine Barn Inn.

A broad range of grief-related topics will be covered, and participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences of loss. Educational materials also will be available.

The series schedule is as follows:

• Monday, Sept. 28: Learning About Grief
• Monday, Oct. 5: Reactions to Grief
• Monday, Oct. 12: Grief and Relationships
• Monday, Oct. 19: Coping with Loss
• Monday, Oct. 26: Grief and Anger
• Tuesday, Nov. 3: Grieving and Growing

Geisinger Hospice also offers Living with Grief educational and support programs throughout the year for people who have recently lost a loved one. These programs are held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month at the Geisinger Medical Center Spiritual Care Center and from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Grace Lutheran Church, 116 W. Chestnut St., Shamokin.
