Dr. Seth Linker to discuss balloon sinuplasty as treatment for chronic sinusitis
(CLARKS SUMMIT, PA) - Otolaryngologist Seth P. Linker, MD, FACS, will discuss Balloon Sinuplasty™ , a procedure designed to treat chronic sinusitis, on Tuesday, February 13, at 6:30 pm at the Abington Community Library on 1200 West Grove Street in Clarks Summit.
Balloon Sinuplasty™ technology is an FDA-cleared, endoscopic, catheter-based treatment system for patients suffering from sinusitis, an inflammation of the sinus lining commonly caused by bacterial, viral and/or microbial infections. Sinusitis affects 37 million people each year and accounts for over $8 billion in annual healthcare expenditures.
Balloon Sinuplasty™ is a minimally invasive technology used to open blocked sinuses and is safe and effective in relieving symptoms of sinusitis. The procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis allowing the patient to return home the same day.
Because each patient suffering from sinusitis is different, a thorough examination and discussion between the patient, his doctor, and an otolaryngologist would determine whether a patient may benefit from the Balloon Sinuplasty™ system.
Recently trained in Balloon Sinuplasty™ , Dr. Linker sees patients for ear, nose and throat conditions at Geisinger-Lake Scranton and Geisinger-Tunkhannock. He performs surgery at Tyler Memorial Hospital. Board certified in otolaryngology, he received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston and completed his residency at the University of Tennessee, Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He is a member of American Academy of Otolaryngology, the American Medical Association, and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.
