Dr. Brian Saracino joins ER team

Brian S. Saracino, DO, FAAEMWILKES-BARRE- Brian S. Saracino, DO, FAAEM has joined the Emergency Department at Geisinger Wyoming Valley as an associate in emergency medicine. He joins nearly ten emergency department physicians currently practicing at Geisinger Wyoming Valley.

Dr. Saracino graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Saracino completed an internship at Allentown Osteopathic Medical Center (Allentown), and an emergency medicine residency at St. Luke’s Hospital (Bethlehem) and Lehigh Valley Hospital (Allentown). He also served in the United States Air Force as both a medical service specialist and an emergency physician and held the rank of Major. He holds awards from the United States Air Force including Basic Military Training Honor Graduate, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Combat Readiness Medal and National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Leaf Cluster.

Board certified in emergency medicine and a fellow of the American Academy of Emergency Physicians, Dr. Saracino belongs to the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians and American Academy of Emergency Medicine.  He is certified to use and teach ultrasound in the emergency department, and has had specialized military training in treating victims of nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons.

Dr. Saracino is an active participant with the Emergency Medical Services of Northeastern PA and will also serve as the Medical Command Facility Director for both hospitals.  He also enjoys participating in local medical resident and physician assistant educational programs.
