
Dirk Elston, MD, to lead Geisinger dermatology
DANVILLE — Dirk Elston, MD, has accepted the position of Director of Geisinger Health System’s Department of Dermatology effective July 1.
Dr. Elston brings leadership experience, national recognition, clinical excellence, and commitment to the clinical, research and educational programs in dermatology. He will continue his clinical role in dermatopathology. Dr. Elston earned his bachelors degree at Penn State University and his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia. He completed a residency in dermatology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C., and a dermatopathology fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He is board-certified in dermatology and dermatopathology.
He replaces O. Fred Miller, M.D., who led the department for 28 years and will continue to see patients.
