
David Pugliese, DO, joins Geisinger Wyoming Valley rheumatology team
WILKES-BARRE — Rheumatologist David Pugliese, DO, has joined the medical staff at Geisinger Wyoming Valley.
Dr. Pugliese practices with Miroslawa Nowak, MD, at the Valley Medical Building, located Geisinger Wyoming Valley. His clinical interests include general rheumatology, including vasculitis, lupus, rheumatoid and other inflammatory arthritides; inflammatory myopathies; scleroderma, and other immune-mediated connective tissue diseases.
He earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, a masters degree from Boston University; and a bachelors degree from Union College, Schenectady, N.Y. He was Chief Medical Resident at Geisinger Medical Center in 2004-05, and served his residency, internship and rheumatology fellowship at Geisinger. Dr. Pugliese is board-certified in internal medicine and anticipates rheumatology certification later this year. He is also a certified clinical densitometrist.
Honors and achievements include selection as chief medical resident, Sigma Sigma Phi Medical School Honor Society, Alpha Epsilon Lambda Honor Society for graduate and professional students, and the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society. He enjoys cooking, music and outdoor activities.
