David Mariner, MD, RVT, FACS, Named Director of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Geisinger Wyoming Valley

Wilkes-Barre—David R. Mariner, MD, RVT, FACS, has been named Director of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
 
“Dr. Mariner has a long history of providing excellent surgical care to patients in Northeast Pennsylvania, and we are pleased that he is expanding his role by becoming director of vascular and endovascular surgery,” stated Geisinger Health System Director of Vascular Surgery David P. Franklin, MD.

An associate in vascular and general surgery at Geisinger Wyoming Valley since 1985, Dr. Mariner was instrumental in developing the Non-Invasive Vascular Lab at the medical center, where he serves as director. He is also a registered vascular technologist.

“Dr. Mariner has worked tirelessly over the years to enhance care for vascular patients at Geisinger Wyoming Valley. We are indebted to him for his efforts and look forward to the continued evolution of advanced medical services at the medical center,” added Geisinger Wyoming Valley Chief Administrative Officer Lissa Bryan-Smith.

A Fellow of the American College of Surgery, he specializes in endovascular and vascular surgery including both open and endovascular treatments of carotid artery disease, aortic disease and aneurysms, renal and visceral artery occlusive disease, peripheral arterial occlusive disease and varicose veins.

Dr. Mariner is board certified in vascular and general surgery. He earned his medical degree from Georgetown University Medical School, completed a general surgery residency at Georgetown University Hospital, and a vascular surgery fellowship at Eastern Virginia School of Medicine.

He resides in Shavertown.
