Chief Medical Officer Bruce M. Hamory recently elected to board of directors

DANVILLE, PA.- Geisinger Health System Chief Medical Officer Bruce M. Hamory was recently elected to the board of directors for a national organization that advocates for and supports multi-specialty medical groups.

Hamory has begun a three-year term with the American Medical Group Association (AMGA). He is one of 11 at-large directors for the group.

The Alexandria Va.-based organization represents medical groups, including some of the nation’s largest, most prestigious integrated healthcare delivery systems. AMGA advocates for the multi-specialty medical group model of healthcare delivery and for the patients served by medical groups through innovation and information sharing, benchmarking, leadership development, and continuous striving to improve patient care.

“This group is a voice for Geisinger and other similar integrated health systems across the country,” Hamory said. “They analyze trends and data to help member groups, provide public education and also represent medical groups in lobbying efforts before Congress and other national leaders.”
