Cardiologist joins team at GMC

DANVILLE- An interventional cardiologist, Dr. Jeremy W. Buckley, has joined the Department of Cardiology at Geisinger Medical Center.


He received his bachelor's degree from Ohio State University and M.D. from Ohio State University's College of Medicine and Public Health in 2001.


He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Michigan Hospitals in 2004. He also completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease and an advanced fellowship in interventional cardiology through the University of Michigan Hospital in June 2008.


Dr. Buckley's work has been published in several peer-reviewed publications, including the Journal of Clinical Pediatrics and the American Heart Journal.


He is board certified in cardiology and is board eligible in interventional cardiology.


He specializes in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease, epidemiology and vascular medicine, and is a member of the American College of Cardiology.


Geisinger hires vascular surgeon


DANVILLE- A vascular surgeon, Dr. John L. Gray, recently joined the Department of Vascular Surgery at Geisinger Medical Center.


He received his bachelor's degree from Westminster College, Missouri, and went on to receive his M.D. from Duke University in 1985. He served his residency in general surgery at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, from 1985 to 1991, then served as chief resident in the general surgery department from 1991 to 1992. Dr. Gray also completed a vascular surgery fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center from 1992 to 1994.


Prior to joining Geisinger, he served as Chief of Vascular Surgery at the Durham Veterans Affairs Hospital in North Carolina, and Director of Vascular Surgery at the WakeMed Faculty Practice in Raleigh, N.C. He also served as a professor of surgery at Duke University Medical Center from 1995 to 2006.


Dr. Gray is a founding member of the International Society for Vascular Surgery, and also belongs to the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery.
