Brian Klock, MD, FACS, brings trauma surgery expertise to Geisinger Wyoming Valley

WILKES-BARRE — Brian E. Klock, MD, FACS, joins Geisinger Wyoming Valley as an associate in the surgery department. Board certified in both general surgery and surgical critical care, Dr. Klock specializes in trauma surgery.

Dr. Klock was previously the director of trauma services and co-director of the critical care unit at Community Medical Center’s level II accredited regional trauma center in Scranton.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Klock served as the physician-in-charge of the surgical intensive care unit at Brookdale Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He was also a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the State University of New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn, where he was honored as the Outstanding Surgical Attending Teacher in 1994.

Dr. Klock earned his medical degree at New York Medical College and completed his general surgery residency at Westchester County Medical Center, both in Valhalla, NY. He then served as chief resident of general surgery at Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York, NY.

A fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Klock also holds memberships in several organizations including Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Klock resides in Greentown, Penn.
