Aparna Velnati, MD, joins Geisinger Wyoming Valley as a fellowship-trained radiologist

WILKES-BARRE – Aparna Velnati, MD, joins Geisinger Wyoming Valley as a radiologist specializing in body imaging to detect conditions in the chest, abdomen and pelvis. She joins a team of twelve physicians in the Geisinger Wyoming Valley radiology department.

She is experienced in ultrasound, computed tomography (CT) scan and musculoskeletal, abdominal and neurological MRIs. Dr. Velnati previously served as the medical director of the radiology department at the West Georgia Health System in Lagrange, Georgia.

Fellowship trained in abdominal imaging, Dr. Velnati earned her medical degree from Guntur Medical College in Guntur, India, and is board certified in radiology. Dr. Velnati completed residencies at both Cook County Hospital in Chicago, and St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City. She completed her fellowship in abdominal imaging from Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.

Dr. Velnati resides in Plains Township.
