Adam Waksor, DDS, joins Geisinger Wyoming Valley as an oral maxillofacial surgeon

WILKES-BARRE — Adam T. Waksor, DDS, joins Timothy Atkinson, DDS, MHA, as director of oral maxillofacial surgery in the Valley Medical Building at Geisinger Wyoming Valley. Dr. Waksor specializes in dental implants, wisdom teeth extraction, TMJ pain, facial trauma, osseous distraction, dentoveolar, laser surgery, cleft lip or palate surgery, and facial reconstruction and trauma surgery.

Prior to joining Geisinger, Dr. Waksor worked as an attending oral maxillofacial surgeon at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in Bronx, N.Y., which is affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. In addition to patient care, he also taught and supervised residents. Dr. Waksor also saw patients in a private practice setting in South Orange, N.J.

Board certified, Dr. Waksor earned his degree in dental surgery from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York, N.Y. He completed a general practice residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center. He also completed an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency and served as chief resident at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., which is affiliated with the Weill Medical College of Cornell University.

Passionate about volunteering, Dr. Waksor regularly travels with the Ethiopian North American Health Professionals Association, an organization he served as a Board of Director, to perform cleft lip/cleft palate and  facial tumor surgery in Africa.

Dr. Waksor is a fellow with the American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and a diplomat of the National Board of Dental Anesthesiologists. He also holds memberships with the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Society of Dental Anesthesiologists.
